God works in mysterious ways
A few minutes ago, I was talking to our landlord to find out how much we should pay for this month, since we are moving. Because we run into lots of people looking for places to move, I asked him if was planning on renting it for 1050, ie the exorbant amount that forced us to go out and seek a more reasonable abode. "1050?!? You guys live in a one-bedroom, I didn't raise your rent to $1050..." Doh. However, the letter he sent to us, had $1050 underlined and in bold. Apparantly, he accidentally forgot to change the amount when he printed our version of the letter he sent out to the tenets. How ironic...
There have been so many strange situations to make our move to our new house possible, that it seems God Really wanted us to move here. I am not sure why one of us didn't meantion the rate back when I called to say it was too high. But, in the long run, I am glad I didn't. While it is certainly more of a pain to move now, instead of staying in this wonderful little apartment, God has pushed us into a wonderful opportunity for an affordable house, that will hopefully be our home for the next several years.
Actually, the person who got burned most by this typo was the landlord. I feel sort of bad for him. So, if anyone is looking for a spacious one bedroom, in beautiful uptown Whittier, for an affordable price, let us know. It will be available by mid-May...

Oh man. Did he raise the rent at all?
Yeah, he was going to raise it like $50...
Huh. Bummer about all the unnecessary stress, but kudos to you both for being so nice and positive through it all! I'm glad everything worked out for you guys.
